I’ve never understood when people say “but they won’t remember it anyway” about taking kids on holiday or special places.. Childhood memories are often a blur, most of us only remember a few major things of those early years but the experiences we have during those early years profoundly shape our development and who we become as adults It’s not about remembering the specifics, it’s about the feelings. The excitement and the adventure. My son was a few months shy of 3 when we took him to Europe. He still remembers the sound the plane makes ar take off, the icecreams by the pool, the jumping on bed with cousins in a hotel room, and the 5 weeks solidly of Dad being there constantly. The exact moments might fade but the impact of these things remain forever. So if you can, take them. It’s about enriching their lives in ways that will influence who they are and become, long after the details have been forgotten. Going to Rome in the next 12 months or so? Expect to see a lot of this… I just left a couple of weeks ago and much of the city most famous monuments are under refurbishment. This means much of it is boarded up and you can’t get anywhere near. It’s not quite ready for the gram in 2024 😂 Navona, Pantheon, Trevi, and around the colosseum is experiencing major construction. They are doing the city up for a big anniversary in 2025 and therefore, a lot can only be seen behind a lot of fencing. It’s not just the refurbishment too, it’s also the fact a new metro is going in, creating lots of road blockages. And meaning a lot of the fountains have been turned off because of the construction. It’s still beautiful, there’s really nowhere like Roma.. but it should be noted if you are going in the next 12 months, expect a bit of the above pics and a bit of delays in transport 👆 #roma #romatraveltips #2024travel #travelagency
